FAMILY HISTORY:

Clarence and Vera Mercer began renting equipment back in the 1940’s as Downriver Equipment Rentals and has been supplying top name, high quality equipment in the Metropolitan Detroit area since then. In the early 1990’s, they both had passed on (and are missed greatly everyday), the company reigns were then turned over to their son Ron, and his wife Jan, representing the second generation of the family business. They decided to rename the business Mercer Equipment Rentals and today with their two sons and daughter now representing the third family generation along with a dedicated team of employees are deeply involved in running the family business.

Mercer Equipment Rentals is dedicated to renting and selling high quality equipment from the leading manufacturers in the industry while maintaining competitive rental rates for the industrial, contractor, and homeowner markets. With two locations serving the Metropolitan Detroit area we are sure we have what you need to rent and our knowledgeable trained staff is always ready to assist you in the proper selection of equipment to do your job in the most cost effective way.

At Mercer Equipment Rentals we rent and sell just about anything you can imagine from small equipment such as rototillers and post hole diggers to heavy equipment like backhoes and excavators. Mercers Equipment Rentals is well known as the rental store for the HARD TO FIND ITEMS. Need to rent a piece of equipment but you are unsure how to operate it, we have over 6 acres at our facility in Brownstown where we can show you how to run it safely and properly before you rent it. For the do it yourselfers we have our own concrete plant, and a propane filling station for all your propane needs. Delivery service is available statewide or out of state if needed, and we are only a phone call away to dispatch our outside sales staff to your jobsite to address any of your rental needs. For our industrial accounts, 24 hour service is offered for those emergency situations.
